Auvik pricing explained
Auvik asks you to get a quote. The price depends on what you need and which devices count. Here is what to check before you buy.
Auvik does not publish a price list. Its pricing page is a quote form, and Auvik calls that page the only official source for Auvik pricing. The price is based on the devices you manage. Network, infrastructure and edge devices are billed. Wireless access points, printers and UPS units are free.
This guide is written by rConfig, a network configuration management vendor. First we explain how Auvik pricing works. Then we show what rConfig costs, from the same source as our pricing page, so you can compare like with like.
How much does Auvik cost?
Nobody outside Auvik can tell you a figure that applies to you. Auvik does not list prices, and it says the prices shown by other sites and AI tools are wrong. What is public is the model. Here is what you can know now, and what only a quote can settle.
| What we checked | What Auvik says | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Published price list | None. Auvik gives a custom quote and calls its pricing page the only official source for Auvik pricing. | [1] |
| Pricing basis | The devices you manage. Auvik bills for the network, infrastructure and edge devices you license. | [1] |
| Devices monitored free | Wireless access points, printers, uninterruptible power supplies and more are monitored at no extra charge. | [1] |
| Delivery model | Software as a service only. There is no self-hosted or perpetual option. | [1] |
| Free trial | 14 days. No credit card, all features included. | [1] |
| Volume discounts | Available. Auvik does not publish the bands. | [1] |
| MSP pricing | Separate pricing packages built for managed service providers. | [1] |
| Contract term and renewal | Quote dependent. Your agreement sets the term, the price and the renewal rules. | [1] |
Your agreement with Auvik sets the real terms: the price, the length of the contract and what happens at renewal. Ask for all three in writing before you compare it with anything else.
This page is about Auvik Network Management. Auvik also sells Server Monitoring, Endpoint Monitoring, SaaS Management, Auvik AI. Those are separate products, so check which one a quote covers.
Which devices count?
Auvik puts devices in two groups. Only one group is billed. So the number of devices Auvik monitors and the number it bills for are different. Ask for both numbers when you get a quote.
Billed
Devices Auvik charges for
- Network devices
- Infrastructure devices
- Edge devices
These are Auvik's three billable categories, in Auvik's words. Auvik does not list every model on its pricing page, so ask which of your devices fall into each group.
Free
Devices Auvik monitors at no charge
- Wireless access points
- Printers
- Uninterruptible power supplies
- Other devices Auvik lists as free
Still discovered and monitored. They do not add to the bill, so they do not belong in your billable count.
The billing rules are set by Auvik and can change. The pricing FAQ on Auvik's pricing page is the public statement, and Auvik's support centre holds the detailed billing article. Get the current list in writing with your quote.
rConfig counts differently. Every device you back up counts, and each edition has a device allowance rather than a per-device meter. The next section shows the allowances beside the prices.
What does rConfig cost?
rConfig publishes its prices. The numbers below come from the same source as our pricing page. Prices are shown in euro (EUR), US dollars (USD) and pounds sterling (GBP), and a quote can be issued in any of the three.

|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| V8 Core | No device limit | €0 | $0 | £0 | Free and open source. |
| V8 Pro Starter | up to 300 devices | €3,000 | $3,900 | £2,800 | Use in perpetuity. Active annual subscription for support and updates. |

rConfig is configuration management. It backs up device configurations, keeps the version history, shows what changed, checks configurations against your policies and pushes changes. It does not do network monitoring, network mapping or flow analysis, so it does not replace everything Auvik does.
That matters for the sum. If you keep Auvik for monitoring and add rConfig, the Auvik cost stays. If you only need configuration backup and change control, the fair comparison is the Auvik quote for that work against the rConfig edition your device count needs.
How to compare the full cost
A list price and a quote do not compare well on their own. Work through these seven points with both vendors and you will have two numbers that mean the same thing.
What you need from configuration management
List the jobs: backup, change history, compliance checks, bulk changes, rollback. Check that each vendor covers each job before you compare a price.
Monitoring you still need
rConfig does not do network monitoring, mapping or flow analysis. If you need those, that cost stays with Auvik or another tool. Add it to the rConfig side of the sum.
Devices that count
Ask Auvik for your billable device count in writing. For rConfig, count every device you want backed up and pick the edition whose allowance covers it.
Licence period
Auvik is a subscription. rConfig Starter and Standard are used in perpetuity, with an annual subscription for support and updates. Compare three to five years, not one.
Support
Check the response time and the hours covered in each plan. rConfig lists support by edition on the comparison page.
Hosting
Auvik hosts the service for you. rConfig runs on a server or cloud account you control. Add the host and the time to run it.
Evaluation and migration effort
Allow time to test. Auvik gives 14 days. rConfig V8 Core is free with no time limit, so you can prove it on your own devices before you spend anything.
