rConfig Launches Vector Prism, the First White-Label Customer Portal for Network Configuration Management

rConfig today announced the general availability of rConfig Vector Prism, a white-label, MFA-secured, on-premise customer portal that gives MSPs and telcos a branded front office for the configurations rConfig Vector already manages. Prism is the first NCM-native customer portal on the market.

rConfig, the network configuration management platform built by OS Informatics Limited, today announced the general availability of rConfig Vector Prism, a white-label customer portal that sits in front of rConfig Vector and gives every end customer a branded, MFA-secured, on-premise view of their own network configurations.

Prism is aimed squarely at managed service providers and telcos who already run rConfig Vector as their NCM control plane, and who have, until now, had three bad options when customers asked for visibility into their own configurations: share Vector logins, build an in-house portal, or email PDF reports. Each pattern fails for a different reason. Shared logins break under audit. Custom portals age, accumulate tickets, and outlive the engineer who built them. PDF reports are stale the moment they leave the outbox.

Prism replaces all three with a purpose-built layer that turns the tags MSPs already apply to devices into a customer-facing experience, with zero portal engineering required on the MSP side.

An industry first#

As of April 2026, no other NCM vendor on the market ships a white-label, tag-scoped, MFA-mandatory customer-facing portal. rConfig has verified this across the public product surfaces of SolarWinds, Cisco Prime, ManageEngine, BackBox, Oxidized, and RANCID. MSPs running those tools have to build the portal themselves or bolt a generic SaaS portal builder onto the side of their stack.

Prism is the first NCM-native portal designed from the outset to be the layer end customers actually log in to.

What Prism does#

Prism is opinionated where it matters and stays out of the way everywhere else. The 1.0 release ships with six core capabilities:

  • Tag-based multi-tenancy. Customers see only devices whose tags are mapped to their account. Scope is enforced server-side on every request, not in the UI. An empty mapping resolves to an empty result, never the full estate.
  • Mandatory MFA. TOTP enrolment is enforced at the route layer. No opt-out, no global disable switch. Recovery codes issue on first login, admins can reset 2FA on demand.
  • Full white-label branding. Logo, colours, favicon, domain, support links, footer. Optional per-customer overrides for MSPs serving multiple end clients with their own brands.
  • On-premise, no phone-home. One binary, one database, one nginx vhost. Runs alongside Vector on the MSP's own infrastructure. Zero telemetry, zero outbound calls, zero SaaS dependency.
  • Read-only by design. Prism never writes back to Vector. End customers can view, diff, search, and download. They cannot mutate source data, and there is no API surface that would let them.
  • Audit-ready. Every login, mapping change, branding edit, and download lands in a structured audit log. CSV export for QBRs, security reviews, and SOC 2 evidence trails.

Why it matters now#

MSPs and telcos are under increasing pressure from auditors, end customers, and frameworks like NIS2 and DORA to demonstrate scoped, evidenced access to network data. The pattern of sharing a single NCM login across a customer base does not survive that scrutiny.

"Every MSP we work with already tags devices by customer for billing and routing. Prism turns that existing structure into a customer-facing experience without the MSP writing a single line of portal code. It is the third leg of the stack: Vector is the back office, the Vector Agent is the data plane, and Prism is the front office that end customers actually log in to."

— Stephen Stack, CTO of rConfig

How it deploys#

Reference deployment is a 4 vCPU, 8 GB Linux VM running MariaDB and Redis-backed Laravel queues. At 100 provisioned customers and 50 concurrent end-customer sessions, Prism sustains a p95 page load under 800 ms and a p95 MFA challenge under 300 ms. Steady-state memory sits around 180 MB.

Provisioning a new customer is a form, not a project. Create a team, map a tag set, hand over the URL. The reference path from clone to first customer onboarded is about a day, including brand setup.

Availability and pricing#

rConfig Vector Prism 1.0 is available today for all existing rConfig Vector customers. Prism is licensed as a per-instance add-on, with no per-end-customer seat fees. Full pricing and a deployment sizing guide are available at rconfig.com.

A live demo can be booked through the rConfig website.
